R Fuess scopes

Hi Amberg

Thanks for posting More pictures.

I recognise where your 3x R Fuess with cut rear claw came from now and I don't remember that being advertised or pictured when it was being sold. Did damage catch you out or did you know what you were getting?

Very interesting that 8x R Fuess.

Nice collection of R Fuess cases as well, yet to find one for collection.

I may be wrong but the rifle on the left seems to have a green-painted R.Fuess 3x scope.

The Sniper in the Middle If I am seeing the Bolt Correctly it looks to be of a Unique Type the Bend look Different at least from what I am seeing . Advise Please . Best Regards
PS GREAT PHOTO !!!!!!!

Great photo thanks for posting.

The Green textured R Fuess scope with far left sniper is the larger diameter straight tubed 5x scope.

Sorry Dave, I can't help you. Unfortunately, picture is not mine.
Here is another interesting picture. I'm not sure if it's a R.Fuess scope.

Fuess 5a...

Hi All - Hope members from this thread are still active as it has had some really fascinating info and photos.

Wondering if anyone can give me background on this Fuess 5a that I've acquired (was also intending it to be a project scope, but it is too fascinating on its own...) (First post on this site so hope the attachments load properly...)

It does appear to be fairly similar to the catalogue advert attached (borrowed from this site - any idea as to when the catalogue likely dates to? I assume pre-WWI with the price of DM100?) for the Fuess 5.

30mm tube diameter, tube length slightly longer than the advert item (that is 30cm length, mine is circa 32 cm) but interestingly, only has 100m and 175m range gradients. I'm assuming it is civvie - no military markings or rifle numbers. Also the 35mm objective doesn't seem to appear on the Fuess 5 military examples. Wonder why that was - would have thought it would have been a bonus from a light-gathering perspective?

Hi @Thembi, did you find a forum active on the R. Fuess rifle scopes?
I am keen to learn more about this scope that I inherited from my grandfather with a Mauser M98, 8x57.
