Default Udo Anschutz .22 conversion of a Gew98

I thought I'd share photos of a Gew98 converted into a .22 single shot by Udo Anschutz. The rifle is serial numbered 6641. The barrel has a full length spring loaded insert that moves back when the bolt is opened to make loading easier. I owned one of his Wehrmansgewehrs years ago but this is the first .22 that i've encountered.

    That is very nice.

    Is that a SM stock?

Default Udo Anschutz conversion of a Gew98

TA Thank you! From the few examples of the 8.15x46's i've seen, it appears UAZ was using walnut gew98 stock blanks for his rifles. I've also seen an example located in Germany that used what appears to be a South American contract stock with the handguard clip channels neatly filled in. This one appears to be either a shortened Gew98 blank or SM blank that he used a SM method of attaching the front barrel band. The front band is also serial numbered to the rifle.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find much information on this make or model.
