German 7,9 boxes/crates

Odd lots or broken sleeves. Ready to be belted & sent down range. I always keep examples of a lot for posterity. JH

I love the "B" crates! Nice Aux. label warning the "cartridge cases waxed, do not oil or grease!" JH

I prefer the 30/40 primed sS for German auto loading rifles when I can find serviceable lots. Besides being non corrosive, the steel primer cup is more resistant to primer punctures than the brass cup used in the zdh 88 primer (corrosive). Punctured primers can be a common occurrence in the G41/43 series of rifles. JH

I'm gonna go out on a limb and proclaim that Haak is definitely a shooter.

Blast away my friend..

I feel your pleasure..

Cool thread

Great post...with finances as they are this could be my next target area. Is there a reference source explaining the ammo types. I never realized there was so much variety. Keep the posts coming.

"German 7.9mm Military Ammunition 1888-1945" by Daniel Kent. Out of print and expensive. I do not have a copy so I cannot say if it is worth the trouble of tracking down, but it probably is.

Its definitely worthwhile if you can find it, an excellent book....it doesn't cover everything, but it was the best reference out there for a long time. Grab one if you can!

There is a new (and also very expensive) German language book out too, which is supposed to be the "Kriegsmodell" of German 7,92 ammo books...I am sure Jim would have a copy, if he can't give you the details, I'll look around and see if I can find them....

This is the latest. I don't know the cost. Be sure to ask for the English supplement unless you speak German. JH
