Nice 43M. I still flinch and twitch occasionally at the unissued condition one I passed on at the SOS about 8 years ago for $600. Have no idea what I was (was not) thinking. Good to have you aboard the moderator boat Pisgah.

Your going to be a great addition to the forum so again welcome . I do have a question on the M43 with this Model are or should all Buttplates be No#ed in this manner . Best Regards

Thanks for the welcome guys. AFAIK, all 43M's should have buttplates numbered in the fashion pictured. Over the last several years I have attempted to accumulate a G98/40 collection. Until that point I didn't know much about the G98/40's or 43M's. The 43M I pictured is the only one in my collection and one of the few matching/original examples I have had the opportunity to acquire. I doubt that many are actively seeking this model but all the same, few nice ones seem to surface on the net. I'm listing a relevant link:
