Factory original and matching, except for magazine. It's tough to find one with a matching magazine. They were issued with two or three, each numbered ".1" and ".2" and ".3" after the serial. Note the stock varnish and inspection markings.

Gorgeous SVT, Ham. An original '41 Tula has been on my do want list for a few years. Can I nominate this for a pic sticky? It certainly deserves it. :hail::hail:

I agree with you that the original guns use some kind of varnish and not shellac like the refurbs.

It's tough to find one with a matching magazine.
That is a bit of understatement, don't you think? :)

That is about as close to factory original as any SVT I have ever seen. No refurb, no changed parts(except mag as mentioned), apparently original finish, etc. and a real beauty. Thanks for posting.

Wow, This is the only all original SVT40 ive ever seen. This is superb! Thanks for sharing it Ham! Definately needs to go into the sticky.

Whered you pick this gem up at?

I'll take one..

Wow.....:hail: I'll take this one and the 38 you have and give you a rare bnz 45 for it.....

Stunning...like Brian said extremely hard to find un-touched.

Thanks guys. Picked it up awhile back. Sold my Izhvesk 41 years before that and regretted it because I couldn't find a nice SVT.40. This one is nicer and the bore is like a mirror, which is tough to find on Soviet weapons from WW2. I like SVTs. Of course, the premier semi of WW2 was the M1 Garand, which is still a fine piece of gear today.

Very nice rifle. I was fortunate to acquire a matching one back in the late '70s directly from a American vet who took it from a German soldier. They are few & far between in this condition.

Thank you History. I had a much harder time finding it than a K98k or G/K43. They're neat and saw much German use.
