This is another rifle a collector was nice enough to let me photograph today. Byf45 no letter with a full kriegs walnut stock and a 45 dated cloth sling. He's had the rifle for 40+ years. One of the nicer one's ive seen.. The sling is amazing and I really concentrated on the construction of the sling..

sling..

I righted the photo of the sling markings so our necks wont get a kink in them..

this guy also has a similar sling with K43 markings on it.. He has a great collection and it was nice to see it.

That's an oddball for sure with the disc, and looks nice. I've heard people say the OXM marked slings were repro's because the OXM factory was located in St. Etienne France which was liberated in 44 (I have no idea myself as I've never studied them, it looks real).

???

well. Im so damn dumb I never noticed the disc till I looked at the photos.. And did a double take. Full k.m. oberndorf with a disc in walnut ??
The rifle has never been apart and has been in his safe for 40+ years.. He has alot of great rifles but this one and two other odd balls caught my eye.

Also you might be right ? I thought it was a C X M marking ?? He has a K43 marked sling made the same way.. Ink marked K43 like in weavers book. I should of grabbed a pic of it...

It's pretty cool that it has the disc, just like the high turret snipers. Wonder if it was about to be converted to a high turret but wasn't for some reason?

???

possible, lots of high turrets and zf41's show up in the byf45 no letter block.. If I actually noticed the fact it had one I'd of taken more photos of the stock.

He also had a byf45 no letter zf41 in the same shape. Similar to the one Radomman was selling a couple years back.

wow awesome rifle. i love the wood stamps in walnut guns -- they tend to be really deep and crisp. if the disc was added on the way to being a high turret, it would still have the hole under the buttplate? no doubt its the real deal.

Ask him if the stock is numbered to the rifle.

well, the rifle has never been apart and I really dont want to ask. Ill just take it for what it is.. I thought about the buttplate but, I feel the hole is drilled with the buttplate on and it would still have it on with the hole in it...

I would not take it apart, IMO. It looks great, do not know anything about the sling but it looks really cool. GR
