    The inspector/commander appears to be "ИЛ", the same on an 1945 (post-war) M44 I had, so this one is probably a later '44 example. You can tell from the finish the war was going much better for the Soviets at this point.

    I assume the inside of the receiver is blued like Farb's? Very nice!

    Yes, interesting. The opposite of what was going on with German arms production. The Soviets were winning, on the offensive, pressure was off. By the time this rifle was made they knew they were going to win. When that '43 was made it was still somewhat in the air and the focus was producing as many rifles as possible to make up for losses and arm troops.
