Recently acquired a dot 1944,

Serial 2327 ai

IO import marked, bolt and trigger guard mis-matched. Has matching SMUB and SLB. Proofs pinged but readable. It came in a mis-matched, red glue, laminate stock with a weird cross bolt. Not sure if it is post war or not.

Has a faint Wa63 proof on the sear but the trigger, bolt stop, rear sight base, ladder and sight are all without proofs or, serial numbers. Not sure it this is correct for a Brunn I of this era or not.

I have a unserialized byf Stamped w/ lock screw trigger guard w/ stamped floorplate (ser #'d) coming for it. I also have a matching to itself phosphate, oval vent bolt w/ a 1 on the underside of handle root and e coded safety and cocking piece I will use on it if kosher. The bolt it came with was mismatched and pretty crudely scrubbed of its proofs which lead me to believe this was a Romanian import.

Any insight would be appreciated.

In Search Of Semi-Kriegsmodell dou 44 Stock For Sale.

dou. 44, NIM, non- R/C, Serial number on the barrel. Bolt has round gas holes and bolt guide rib. All numbered parts are matching numbers, Un-numbered parts are correct for the gg block range, I am looking to purchase a nice, average, good condition, laminate stock for my all matching dou 44 in gg block range. I need the semi-Kriegsmodell with NO cleaning rod hole, No bayo lug, but DOES have the takedown disc. Prefer not to have R/C . My original has no serial #, but was cut down by bubba himself. I would like to put my fine rifle back in correct clothing. If you folks know where one is for sale, please let me know. Thanks ...

Another number for your research.
I have 1944 dot 2909w. Complete with hood/sling. Matching, 90% condition.

I have a dot 1944, posted on Gunboards and I will post here in a minute. It's serial number 20597 and is a bolt mismatch from Gunbroker, no sight hood but came with an apparently original sling. No cleaning rod hole in the stock but otherwise normal unfinished, unsanded stock.

Dou 42 5235b. Original configuration, all matching except for bolt 7344z, also of Brunn II manufacture. Rifle taken as a souvenir at the surrender of the Brittainy port of St. Nazaire by my uncle, who shipped it home to my grandfather.

Here you are:
unfortunatley, the rifle has suffered from bad storage. But I simply couldn't leave it where it was, all the more it was cheap.

Many greetings

Dou 43 6585 M
RC/Mitchells Mauser

The bolt has been re-blued and a LT Sniper Conversion has been done to it.

Dot 44 ser# 2071 at - Matching from the trader
Dou 42 ser# 6219 b - Matching except for the cleaning rod. Has a numbered, but not to the rifle cleaning rod. Shouldn't have a numbered cleaning rod for 1942. Condition is well used.

Acquired this week:

dot 1943, SN 6954r, WaA63 on receiver
dot/13 DO, WaA63 on barrel

5621i, WaA77 on bolt, handle, safety

6282, WaA37 on trigger guard, floor plate, floor plate screw, front h-band, rear band

8457 (first two digits difficult to read so I may be wrong) on sight base, sight leaf

The stock is entirely incorrect and I can only guess at the source. Although it fits the barrel and action nicely, the hole for the sling was added by someone with amateur carpentry skills and lacks the inset for the buckle, the takedown discs sit on top of the stock rather than being inset, and the cupped buttplate fits over the stock instead of the edges mating against it. This stock will be tossed as soon as I can obtain a historically correct replacement without paying an absurd price (looking at you eBay)

I am perplexed by the origins for this rifle. There is no import stamp. The barrel bands and buttplate have about 10% of a finish remaining that looks like paint. I know Russian captures were painted but there are too many matching numbers for me to believe this is an RC and the receiver lacks the tell-tale X. The eagles with swasticas on the receiver and barrel have the swasticas removed with a punch the same size as the circle. The Romanians were known for defacing the dirty birds on their captures but it normally looks like it was done with a jackhammer. These are done so neatly and tastefully, that I initially didn't realize they were gone. The upper action has 60% bluing remaining, less on the handle, and the trigger guard and floor plate are at almost bare metal. The bore is light, almost shiny, with very good rifling present. My gut is telling me that somebody salvaged the best parts from 3 or 4 rifles to make one complete rifle.

I just inherited a Mod 98 with dou. 42 all parts marked 117. The 8mm Mauser cartridge fits. Is this an early example? Was brought back from WW2. Has some eagle? stamps on receiver and barrel

we’ll be able to give more accurate info if you can take & post photos here or post a link to imgur or similar. for posting here, you’ll need to resize the pix to <1mb, a few k is better. look at the reference section to get an idea of how to frame the shots. an overcast day outdoors, rifle dry, not oily. cell phone ok but turn sideways, makes pics show more of what we need to see.

early for Brunn Plant 2, relatively speaking, yes.
