Interesting that it is Herr marked and has "naval" markings on the disc.

I didn't know that... is that th"O" that indicates that? Ostsee? Bornholm (where i got it) is in the middle of this ;)
The stock has Weimar eagles with H under... I does have a WaA stamp on the disc as well ... it says something like 214?
 
Typical for JP Sauer Navy rifles to be Eagle H marked with Navy markings on the disc.
 
O is for ost sea. N is for north sea. the numbers are inventory or weapons # ? the same thing is stamped on pistols and optics. Hand held binos for sure. A way of keeping track of the item itself.

I also have seen them with just the N and no #. This shows up later on 41 dated rifles. Maybe it was phased out all together later on.
