Very nice score, an early one with the small elevation adjustment and not modified to the /1 configuration. Tough mfg code to find as well!

I saw it on ebay. It went higher than I expected. Unfortunately I could not bide because of the homeland securitiy export regulations which forbid shipping scopes outside US without special exporter licence. They make no difference between modern and antique scopes; IMO because in my 2 cases the case was handled by a woman.

Paul in regards to Your Comment of Special Export Licence and it being handled by a woman , The issue is actually bigger than woman . The actual and biggest reason for this Problem is these IDIOTS who are men & woman do not know the Actual written LAW . The Law Clearly Stated that there is Scopes that are EXEMPTED . I know this because of My Personal Incident at Boston Logan Airport .

I was threatened with Arrest and Confiscation of all my Scopes and Mounts by a Customs Officer . I had registered Serial Numbers of Several Scopes to bring to Germany. But I demanded to see his Supervisor and after I explained to Surpervisor what I was bring out of Country and the Years of Manufacture and they were considered C&R which the Supervisor quickly said Yes I am Correct and anything 50 yrs. or Older falls under C&R LAWS which makes them EXEMPT to the Export Ban. Which He very sternly and in a kinda demeaning tone informed his subordinate that I was completely correct and that this Custom Agent had best go get his Law Book sit down at his Desk and learn the Damn Law and never again threaten anyone with Arrest until he is sure of the Law. Then he made this Idiot Apologize to Me and the Supervisor said he was sorry for this unjust harassment . My Point being is that too many of these Custom Agents interpret the law as they see fit and they get it WRONG.

Brian Very Nice ZF41 Optics Set and Case . As I mentioned when we talked that Very hard to find a Complete set one with Klearinol Cloth and Brush . Best Regards

IMHO ,one of the main reasons these are higher priced is . It is very hard to find a flat roller type , because most of them were converted to beveled roller type and it is Very nice Cond. and early type items are tough to come by . Which IMHO most always commands a premium . Best Regards

Hello Brian,
indeed a very nice matching complete set!
I assume that the scope is made in late 1942 or early to mid 1943.

For information on the lubricant markings on scopes, take a look at this page.

And if you don't mind, I would like to add data of your scopes to my database.

Ken,

Thanks for the ZF-41 Information. Feel free to add them to your list if you like.
