Got this for two reasons. First I have been looking for about 20years for a really nice one of these and 2nd, book project. Came with manual, sling, muzzle cover and matching bayonet. Super thankyou-schon to Jon for all his help. No under the hood issues with this puppy as most of these have storage problems with pitting at or below the wood line.

Will also remove the front sight protector and get a good shot of that. More pics to follow.

Also included a page from the Mauser chapter on the Port. 937 contract.

STUNNING EXAMPLE.

Definitely my favourite export Mauser of all - I have owned more than I care to remember, wish I had kept the last one, but sold it to fund a Lubeck all-matcher :)

Was it you or Eric that asked about slings to me a while back? Oddly, I found 2 original M937 slings recently, only bought one. Keeping it for when I get another...

Here's the last M937 I owned and foolishly sold. ALL matching, EXCEPT the ejector box...

Wow, that's a nice one. Every one of these I have ever seen is dog tired or has pitting under the wood, especially the M37 versions. You must be a proud papa!

M937

Lewis I could use any data you have on the ones you owned.

Thanks,
B.

It was me. If you run into any more I'm interested. I could actually use several of them.

Very nice piece. I have been looking to pick up one of these myself. I have been trying to find one with a matching bayonet so I always seem to pass them up. Beautiful find.

M937a

The sling arrangement is slightly different that the example pictured in laws book. Mine uses a small steel button that closes two slots while the one the BBOW has a sewn (captive)
sling release, and has the h-buckle in additon to the leather slider.

Correction - the sling in Laws book is not correct for the rifle. Its a Gew98/Std. Modell type sling.

I am so busy I overlooked the obvious in the details in the page I included, the lower image shows the K98k style sling adjuster with button keeper at the other end.

Bad me.

Very nice example Bruce. It would be a hard example to upgrade. I can't remember ever seeing one (a Portuguese M937A) with its stock markings struck quite that deep and crisp.

937a

The rifle came from Germany and took about three months to finally complete the roundabout.

Bruce,

The ones I remember off the top of my head without digging out old photographs (actual real FILM photos... shows my age now HA)

C19995

E8106 (the one in the pics I showed)

E8106 must have been VERY near to the end of the M937 run, since we see early M941's in the LOW F block.

Just changing tack a little, here is my EARLY M941, F784. EARLY digital photographs that I took for a Parallax forum photo competition.

Here is my fathers M937. All original and matching. Very minor pitting under the receiver and the bore is excellent condition.
