Picked both of these up at SoS. Sometimes it pays to have good eyes and to pay attention to details. One stamp is a little clearer than the other.

Greats finds Ty! Are both marked with the cz logo?

Sure are. Only markings I can find on scabbards and bayonets are circle z on one side and eagle a80 on the other. Doing some reading I think they may be Romanian contract bayonets finished out by the Germans?

Firstly these are not czech bayonets, its a S24(t) made for Wehrmacht in WB plant Waag Bystritz, Slowakei, or Slovakia, the acceptance used there is A80. There is no CZ stamp, but Z in doubble cirle. CZ is different firm.As proofed by WaA they never went to Romanian contract. b.r.Andy

Thank you Andy, that's what I was hoping to learn. I will update the title accordingly.

The WaAs associated with the Vz24 bayonets (either seized by the Germans in the factories or manufactured under the occupation) are E/607, E/A80, or E/63. I have seen a totally original configuration Vz24 bayonet in new condition, with the 607 WaA on the ricasso. However, most appear to have been reworked later in the field to conform to directives for modification. These are scarcer than the A80 examples, which were modified before leaving the factory. The E63 WaA is typically seen on "dot" coded bayonets/scabbards.

Do you know if this had any affiliation with or was collocated with the ammunition and rifle factories there? Or just happened to be in or near the same town?

Yes these bayonets were delivered with G24(t) rifles, the first production were in Vz24 configuration as by rifles, later reworked to 1942 german standarts. The plant produced mostly ammunition, since 1937 was there a production for rifles and bayonets Vz24. its same plant. As mentioned the plant was moved from Bratislava, and was started in Austria ugrian empire 1870 as G.Roth ammunition fabrik, was buyed by Zbrojovka Brno in late 20ies. b.r.Andy

Thanks Andy. That's what I was tracking. New plant built at same sight for weapon production as ammo production continued in original building from after the move IIRC.
