I have a RC bcd 42 that has the serial number over-stamped. The font on the over-stamp does not look like any production serial number I have observed. Anyone have knowledge if this is wartime applied or something else? Also on this receiver is the number 1 midway between the maker code and the date on the top of the receiver. The 1 is the same exact font as the 1 in my bcd 41 rifle. Anyone know why a number would be in this spot. I also have a 243 code 1939 RC with the number 7 stamped midway between the maker code and the production year. This receiver does not have a RC X on it. Any input on why a number 7 would be on the top of the receiver?
