MG34 or 42 "fortress belt". Folke Myrvang's German Universal Machinguns book doesn't have much to say about these. This is the only one I've ever seen. Any idea of rarity or value?

Thanks.

Anyone can make one of these. I made one myself out of 50rd belts. How could you tell if it’s original? Is there a marking?

at 14’ of rounds, looks like about 1.5 rounds per inch, 200, 250 rounds?
Great, fewer belt changes when there’s 5000 Ivans rushing at you, but much easier to overheat the barrel…….!
Wicked cool, tho!

Oh it does overheat the barrel. I ruint the barrel and booster cone on mine when I took it out the first time. This was years ago, pre internet and I didn’t have an instructions book.
