Gentlemen,
I am new to this Forum and from what I have read in various threads, the membership here is both knowledgeable and civil. I need some advice regarding my G33/40 situation. I was at a local gun shop a few weeks ago and while I was there a fellow brought in a G33/40 and a 91/44 Mosin-Nagant carbine to sell. I am currently an avid collector of Walther pistols and I have not purchased a Mauser rifle in many years. However, this 33/40 caught my attention and I had a clerk put it on hole for me. I purchased it a few days later. Now I have two G33/40's and I cannot afford to keep both.
I have had a "representative" G33/40 in my collection for years. It is a dot 42 in nice condition. The bolt is correct but not matching. The recently purchased G33/40 is a 945 1940. The bolt is correct but not matching. It is missing the sight hood. The 945 1940 has nice stock markings and the stock matches. I am not sure about the cleaning rods on either rifle. I took several pictures and I would very much appreciate any information that you folks could share telling me about what I have, and which rifle you would recommend that I keep and finally, an estimate as to how much I should ask for the one that I sell.
I look forward to your comments.
Earl
