Unmarked Closet Commercial, from '44 with a question

Here's a salty, unnumbered, unmarked bayo. Clearly, binder was added into the resin for the grips so it's late... The scab, is numbered but not like a serial number. Can you think of a scenario where the scab was period numbered... and belongs with this bayonet? They have been together for a long time (but that means little). This came with an early frog. I slipped the frog off to reveal the scab maker... Curious what the thoughts are?

Scabbard is normal Ferlach production in end of numeral string serialing 99xxx produced bayonet from 1941, 497 is a series each of 200 pcs inside, it was already switch to 1944 year, so the scabbard is not reserialed but normal serial in Ferlach manner, should be with a bym 43 /44 bayonet, the blanko bayonet was mixed in period or post. b.r.Andy

Bayonet appears to be a Hörster made Behoerden dating from late 1943 or into 1944. Would have been matched with a same period unmarked scabbard.
