Sauer 38H might be another choice?

I just campared the posted photos and my Sauer 38h magazine and I think the posted photos are from something else. I do not know what it is, but, it is not a 38h.

The stepped bottom sure looks like the Walther P-38 though. Perhaps Walther is correct just a different model. Do you know if it is a .32acp or .380 or ?

I will try some other ammo in it this weekend, maybe it is not German???

Caliber would really narrow it down. It's not 9mm, so that means it isn't a .30 Luger or a .380 either, in all probability. So, it's likely a .32 or a .25. It's not from a PP series or any of the Walther's, including Models 1-9 or a Sauer 38h. So a single stack, small caliber, probably American pistol because it looks like it is designed for an American style magazine release. Best I can do.

The floorplate looks like a P38, but the magazine body is definitely not. How about an Astra Constable? They appear similar and that pistol was manufactured in 7.65.

Yes, let us know the caliber.
With the length wise slot cut into it, I would rule out war time P38.
With that side slot cut into the other side of the mag, half way up, I would definitely say it came from a pistol that uses a mag release button on the side of the frame.

Here is a pic of the "unknown" mag, next to a p.38 mag. It does not fit a hsc, fn 1910, or pp.
Give me you thoughts, Gene

OK, after more research than I care to admit, my best guess is....it is an Astra 4000 magazine.

But, technically I think Pisgah probably beat me to the punch, pretty sure it's an Astra.

Mag?

The body looks like a CZ27. But with that locking notch the only thing I can think of would be a Sauer 38h. Maybe some kind of postwar replacement.
