1917 Artillery Luger - Comments?

gergnotwen

Rest In Peace
This came in to my local shop, numbers look good, grips are junk. I know very little in the Luger department and it looks like a bit of a minefield. Mag is unmarked but the seller says that they have two matching mags, stock and a holster. Bore is good, may clean up some more as well. Did not see the stock or the mags. Decent shape but not pristine by any means but at least it has not been refinished or cold blued. Marked DWM 1917 serial 60 M block. Worth buying?

Serial is 60M. It's not a beater compared to some I have seen but it's not mint either. Kind of middle of the road with a good bore. I think they got the grips from John Wayne though....

I guess I've seen alot of beater Lugers, This one looks great to me.

Is the SN 60M ??

..

The grips will put a hit on value. Even if you replace the grips it will still be a Luger with replacement parts. A collector will almost always be able to tell. The little I know and what I can see the rest looks good. What about the bore??

Overall pretty good mechanical shape, exterior parts match other than the grips. Honest wear and tear I'd say.

Double check to make sure the Breech Block and Firing Pin assembly are in good workable condition before you buy...

Ask me how I know... :googlie

I want it!

Where is it at? I want it. NICE GRIPS! Actually, you mentioned it has the 2 mags and holster/stock? How much did they want???
