K98b Bolt

Southwest

Senior Member
This is a real newbie question. I have never really looked at the markings of k98b rifles. I found a k98b bolt in my inherited pile and was wondering if this type of bolt
commonly has the amount of markings that seem to be on this specimen. I have taken apart some of my k98 bolts and have found that they are not marked with
as many stamps. Is this common for this period? (Just learning! )

It looks to be an Imperial German Kar98A bolt that was possibly renumbered by Poland...The cocking piece is german k98 era and the firing pin looks to be Polish...basically a "parts" bolt...

Why would you call it a paperweight? It is correct - in appearance - for a 98a and will look good on that rifle. Miss-matched, yes, but it still has a use.

I plan on finding a correct cocking piece to replace the one with the wa214 that is on the bolt now. All of these pieces have historical value and have there own stories. I wonder how it ended up in its present configuration.
