Update on FG42 from SMG Guns

I'm very excited to get mine! I'd be super stoked if I ended up getting it by the end of the year, but we'll see. I'll certainly post some videos on the Kintepro youtube channel if I get it.

I ordered a blued finish type 1 with a brass deflector and maple handguard in May 2021. I think it came out to a little over $6k if I remember correctly. I really hope the price doesn't end up going up too much beyond that for this batch, though I obviously couldn't blame Rick for that.

I just saw a type 2 sell on GB for $8k and one for $10k has at least one bid on it, still listed currently... sheeeesh.
EDIT: She's up to two bids, almost $11k! LOL

I was looking through the PTR44 thread and reading back several years ago when everyone thought it was crazy that someone wanted $8k for one 😅

I have a feeling this is going the same route.
 
The last words from the latest email update from SMG, I received it yesterday.

Many of you have been on the list for forever and some will because of that or other reasons will no longer want to purchase the rifle. I get it, life happens.

If that's the case please let me know ASAP so I can make list changes and if you like I can put you on the "Wait to hear from" list which will keep your deposit good as long as we are in business.

If you are still in no need to let us know, just hang in there.

Looks like they are making some updates to the type II receiver as well to make it resemble the original stamped ones better. That's cool.
 
Reading that it seems there won't be any deliveries on T1s anytime soon.

Rick does amazing work but sounds like he's got too many irons in the fire.

My apologies for not seeing this earlier... Thank you FJR Fan, doing better danke! I'm trying some new and other weapon non SMG springs to see if that fixes a few of my occasional feeding issues. I bought this for reenacting and the design has made that much more difficult. Got my SolidWorks fired up to make some prototypes for a few new ideas on the table
 
Since people order them with custom serial numbers, I guess only God and Rick know. A look around for the highest “low” serial might produce a good guess. I didn’t ask for a custom serial and received number 38, which I believe was from the second batch to ship. Anyone have one over 100?A238D517-F6A2-4030-B9EA-C76D57BC1AA9.jpeg
 
When 9 Hole tested one on youtube, it was jam after jam. WHat has been your experience? Maybe/hopefully, they got a bad one.
