A fine example of the faker's art, currently offered at auction. It has many bids. The receiver serial number (original) matches that applied to the stock and has a large "X" above it.

Post the link TSMG. That's a comedy show, Mitchells being sold as whatever.

Yet another perfectly serviceable RC that was raped by Don Mitchell. The guy can't even produce a good fake. At what point did he decide that leaving the bolts pimpshined and in the white would be a good idea?

I viewed this one on Gunbroker yesterday morning. Looks like it sold or was removed in the interim and I failed to bookmark it. The right front of the barrel was heavily Mitchell's marked and everything looked to be refinished. I hadn't realized that they were into faking serial numbers and markings.

Two Mitchell's tragedies sold for $1900 AU this week down here, even had the pics of the "certificate of provenance" from one Mr Von something-or-other :googlie

That letter of provenance would be signed by Herr Hugo Z. VonHumpmeister :biggrin1:

Yep, crap reblued job and a re-numbered pimped up bolt... We cant save all those dopes from themselves... Keeps them broke & less apt to buy legit guns.

thinking what a Mit. mauser sells for. $400-500 usd ? I never pad attention. If you buy it from the source isn't whole sale robbery. He has to but the r.c. mausers then have his shop rework them. Im sure the shop is full of beaner's making 5.00 $ an hr. But, all that stripping, grinding ,polishing ,re-stamping takes time and money. Then the massive add campaign in all those magazines.

What I cant understand is the secondary market and the morons that buy them 5x the selling price that ole Mitchel gets for them ??????
