Is there some kind of special way or tool to remove that disc in the buttstock?

I'm going to take the rifle to my gunsmith in a few days and have him pull the barrel and see what info, if any, we can find underneath...

She cleaned up real nice! Now I just have to find some 8mm. Will also probably take it to my gunsmith buddy and have him look it over...
