I did, but not everything came off so cleaned with a fine scotchbrite pad afterwards and ready for coldblue. the spots you see in the rectangles are corrosion and filing marks from when the mounts were installed in 1925-26.

Scope is back together, ordered some Schnellbrünierung from Ballistol I'm going to try to dilute it with some cleaning fluid so the finish won't be really black.

Mounts are off Going to remove the excess solder and regrease everything this evening. Need to order some coldblue also to touch up the squares

Going to desolder the rings this evening and clean out the tubes and height/focus adjustment. Any recomendations on grease that should be used? Read about white lithium or even chainsaw grease.

Succes, but I used a different approach. I just stuffed a broom brush handle in there lol

Going to try JD's route but have to source a copper pipe first

Now I'm stuck.. What comes out from the top and what from the back? Grease is very sticky..

Seems like the bells can both be removed, think I will go this route

Also, there was a video on Youtube from someone who purchased a RSM ZF39 copy and had to disassemble it because of issues with the dial wheel. Can't seem to find it anymore, it would have been useful.
