I did, but not everything came off so cleaned with a fine scotchbrite pad afterwards and ready for coldblue. the spots you see in the rectangles are corrosion and filing marks from when the mounts were installed in 1925-26.

Scope is back together, ordered some Schnellbrünierung from Ballistol I'm going to try to dilute it with some cleaning fluid so the finish won't be really black.

Going to desolder the rings this evening and clean out the tubes and height/focus adjustment. Any recomendations on grease that should be used? Read about white lithium or even chainsaw grease.

Did some searching and Otto Bock from Berlin was active between 1883 and 1926. This is one of his exemples I wouldn't mind owning. http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=mauserarchive&Number=268249&Searchpage=1&Main=208513&Words=+A10ACN&topic=&Search=true

Also, there was a video on Youtube from someone who purchased a RSM ZF39 copy and had to disassemble it because of issues with the dial wheel. Can't seem to find it anymore, it would have been useful.
