Tulsa show

That‘s not a bad thing. We’ll get a shot at them on gunbroker. But, for $2,800 a rifle, I wonder what condition they were in and whether they were totally correct?
I would be willing to bet that most will have issues that make them no longer collectible.

I was supposed to go, had a table, but was in a pretty bad car accident the Friday before...and was in no shape to go....:(

Eisels will get top dollar for the G.43s and this will further drive up overall retail prices for these. My prediction is that within a year, a $2800 price on a G.43 will be reminiscent of the good old days. Given their current scarcity and market trends, anyone selling one now will likely regret it in the near future.

Michael, hopefully not to banged up from the accident?
Meh, car totaled, I have 4 rib fractures, my wife had an open fracture of the ankle, she is off her feet and living upstairs working from home for two months, luckily Mikey faed the best with a minor concussion/lump on head, but thats it for him...Really put a damper on the Tulsa show, Mikey and I were looking forward to doing it. But we are thankful it wasn't worse...

So sorry to hear that. Glad to hear everyone is alive. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

A friend sent me this link. I was there when these were being sold. A handful went to collectors until the big boys came in. They were all in very VERY high condition.

Interesting! If you had to guess, out of the 34 rifles, how many would you think were totally correct?

They had a loose scope on a 359 marked mount. They had a lot for sale. I bought 2 matching bayonets, a pp, prewar high power, and a early 237 code flare gun. All nice condition and lots of others for sale. Fairly expensive but nice!

I knew the collector... met him here in Southern California in the mid to late 1980's and we were collector friends for years... he slowed down in the mid 2000's... health and poor eye sight. He loved G/K 43's and bought a bunch of them - also liked Winchester M1's, Carbines and trench guns. WW2 pistols, Henry rifles, all WW2 rifles....accessories....etc. He had great, good and UGH! I personally sold him a Kriegsmodell high turret, VG - 1, about 6 K 43's that were correct, including one with matching scope mount and the best Jap M 44 Cavalry Carbine that I ever saw. I know he had several K 43s with matching optics.... I was at Tulsa and asked the dealer that was selling the estate about them and he said the collector had broken everything down and stored them separately... I saw Larry buying many scopes and mounts but have no idea as to which???? I couldn't get close to the feeding frenzy, but I knew the dealer well enough to have him set aside the Walther G 41 W push button piece, I missed a G41M that this collector got from Bob Landies back in the 1990's and missed it again when it was sold about 1 1/2 years ago. Being in his age range - it really hurt to see his 40 year collection (good and Bad) sell in a few hours with NO regard for detail!!!!!

Sad to see them all go that way. I know how it is seeing friends go and then their collections. Only rifle I was able to get was the Polish PU sniper with no import marks. Happy to get it, but wish I could have scored a few of the 43s.

I knew the collector...

I am sorry it all went down this way. However, I think we can all learn from this and use this as a lesson for all regarding liquidating our own collections. Hopefully we can all be prepared for that. I hope the optics can be matched appropriately back to where they belong.
