dot 1944 Y-block

I purchased largely to collect data on this early '44 Brunn. It since has found a new home. Perhaps "reference" worthy as no Y-block has been saved.

Here are some of the details...
  • It's a transition Brunn between 1943-44..... lacking an E/H cartouche
  • SN on the receiver, not barrel
  • HG has serial and alpha, stock lacks alpha.
  • TG still numbered
  • Super bluing.... the floorplate is nearly blk in color
  • Extractor, sear, bolt release are numbered

Agree, very nice! Do you feel that Brünn stocks intermittently left out the suffix in the barrel channel? I have a dot 1944 ai block that has no suffix in the channel even though I believe it is supposed to in that range. I know some other blocks are reported to have the suffix missing from the stock s/n, but wonder if it was also a random occurrence in other blocks as well.

I have had 15 dot 98s with a single alpha, and this is the first w/o a stock alpha.

I have had 9 double alpha dots, and only two have an alpha in the stock channel (ab & aL).... while HG alphas seem more plentiful...
