Hi all. I have this bayonet, it was listed as an exported bayonet. These are the only markings besides the Waffenamts and they seem to be WA253

E 6586

image attached, There is a unmatching sabbard too.

Hello Cole!

I'll help you real quick with the few things I know about these, others will chime in later to give you answers as well, no doubt. This is a 1937 Portuguese contract bayonet, can't tell you more about the WaA253 other than I've found it on a Spanish contract one I have. I'm sure you'll find which maker this inspection stamp is linked to I'll try to refresh my memory in the process.

Thanks for the info guys, Just adding a few more photos now. how much do you think its worth. did i overpay for £70?

Probably not by today prices, the scabbard is not proper as normal Wehrmacht production, cof 43 is for Eickhorn 1943. There should be normally a unmarked scabbard with lines on frog stud and WaA253 on ball finial.
