Saxon infantryman period photographs

These took some time to get here, but well worth the wait. And believe it or not, all of these came out of Dresden Germany. Thank goodness they were not burned up in the Dresden 1945 Fire bombing raid. I have to say some these are pretty cool. One of them shows a Jager unit, plus you just have to love those Saxon shako hats! I also love the mix of different ammo pouches the soldiers are using as well as the bayonets. Of course I'm sure the soldiers are not a big fan of those long bayonets dragging on the ground while kneeling!

I will say this out of all of them I bought this one takes the cake. Just love that close up of a Saxon soldier cradling his Gewehr 98. Had some info on the back too.

Another portrait picture. This one shows a nice close up of the early wood grip style on the S98 quillback bayonet.

Cool photos Jordan--I always enjoy the Saxon units.

Thank you guys I thought everyone here would enjoy these Saxon pictures. I know everyone here likes those Saxon Gewehrs too am I right lol!

If it's ok with you I think I'll do an index of your (or anyone else's) photo posts so they don't get buried and they can be browsed easily. I can do one for this and the Weimar sections.

Thank Chris I have alot of pictures posted up. Most of my Naval pictures I put in the Naval contract thread as well.
