Here is another adoption from Mike…. Mike, you can correct me if I am wrong but I looked threw your past post and do not believe that you ever posted photos of this one though I could have missed it. It’s all matching outside of the ejector box which is waffed but not numbered, and the front sight which isn’t numbered. The rear sight leaf is numbered 16 but marked GI V for a Glasvisier sight. Likely not correct? Aren’t most Glasvisier marked rear sight leaf’s only found on Danzig and a few Amberg’s? I will post a couple photos for the buttplate. I don’t see any depot marks on it. I am far from am expert on the Imperial’s and am trying to learn from all you guys on the fly…. Like the K98k’s, it’s a fairly steep learning curve to get comfortable with everything. The imperials are great rifles though and real addictive. As always please ask if you want to see something not photoed… I will provide.

That's a solid rifle Jory! To Mike's point, the rear sight leaf is undoubtedly a "re-matched" part that was probably swapped by a collector years ago. It happens and I wouldn't hold it against it at all. These wartime WMO aren't as easy to find in this condition as one might think.

Wonderful rifle Jory! 1916 WMOs rarely turn up this nice. To add a little context to the rear sight, it was most likely on a 1918 Amberg originally. The Gl.V fonts are distinct to each manufacturer; Danzig used two different styles, neither of which show up on Amberg guns. Yours is in the Amberg style, the slider acceptance is also C/J which is from 1917 and ‘18. We can guess 1918 just from frequency, the Gl.V sights don’t show up at Amberg until the tail end of 1917.
