What is the latest Sn on FN1922?

Can't say on the serial numbers, but I do have a papered Dutch contract 1922 that was captured by the Germans apparently, and issued to a Luft pilot...it was captured in a Luft drop holster, and was captured directly and taken from the pilot by the father of a friend of my Moms, I got it...

    Mle 1935a WaA251

Jory, awesome pistol! They are great little guns, very kind of dainty if you ask me...and a huge influence for sure on the P210, you can absolutely see the resemblance... Now the hard part, finding the proper holster! Oh, and ammo! Here is a link to my rig, its a "A" block, so a bit earlier...

Thoughts on ammo.....German 1940 lacquered case Kaput

There have been many, many very in depth discussion on this issue. It all boils down to chemistry, and reactions of chemicals in the powder to the steel used in the case. Almost all the rot and corrosion comes from the inside out (there are cases of chemicals in the packaging reacting to the...

6x30 ordnance tan 'cag' Swarovski binoculars

Nice set of glass! Thats cool its just about the latest s/n recorded. I like the late ones with the tan painted objective covers too. Funny true story about Swaro...we had their reps come in to do a Product Knowledge class for us, you know they go over their product lines, why they are the...

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

And last one for today...a 41 cof... Other than runner wear, the blade on this thing is magnificent. The quality of the earlier blades as far as polishing and bluing goes is pretty awesome. You can't really convey the quality of the blade finish in pics, in hand its just stunning. Overall just...

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

This one, a 43 ddl was an oddball when I found it...matching, unsharpened. Blade is pretty nice, but you can see where it must have been wet in the scabbard, and sat like that, as the blade has three distinct spots of corrosion on both sides in exactly the same spots, I assume where the scabbard...

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

Thanks everyone for the comments and input, it is much appreciated. Slash, that 44fnj does have a weak scabbard spring, it slides in and out very slick, it won't fall out, but noticeably different than most all the other bayos for sure. Let me know on the frog, I know Andy said possibly a...

    ID British Binoculars

Yep, you're right, never heard of these, but they are RAF apparently... https://www.pinterest.com/pin/quick-saves--545076361160288119/ Very cool! And more detail...

    ID British Binoculars

They look to be British Admiralty No. 5 "tuna cans", so called because of the distinctive porro prism design...7x50, used by the Navy...and the Army too apparently. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/737086-ross-no-5-mk-4-%E2%80%9Ctuna-can%E2%80%9D-7x50/ Hope this helps Bruce...

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

How German..."Bayonet frog to be combined with shovel carrier", I'm surprised they didn't mash it all up in one gigantic word...like Schweremaschinengewhershutzen' :ROFLMAO: Thanks for the info, I'll stick with the M42 frog thing!

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

And the 43 crs...A bit of runner wear on blade, otherwise pretty nice condition, "a" block, so pretty early 43 production. Scabbard is damned near perfect, and another M42 type frog, RB numbered, with cross strap cut off...

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

These next two are kind of neat bookends to the above two...a 43 fnj and 43 crs... First the fnj... "w" block, has wood scales, blade has same distinct abrupt change in grind direction at the same spot, but machining not as rough. A little more rash and runner wear on the blade, finish doesn't...

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

No, the frog is definitely not SS specific, but that is what the type was always called back in the day...don't know what the current nomenclature for these are, cut down frog, skeletonized frog?

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

2nd up, another 44...a 44 crs. Not quite as nice as the fnj, but almost. A bit more "rash" on the exposed parts (which I am not touching!) and a little more runner wear on the blade. Frog is the "SS" style, RB nr...its got a bit of a tear at the top of the stud hole, so I am not attempting to...

A Few of My Nicer Bayonets...

So, as I have been sorting through my pile of bayonets for the first time in a good while, and culling some here and there, it reminded me that I had soe, what I consider, some really nice ones in the pile, and I have never really posted any of them, so I thought I'd start a thread and do so...
