    K98 value

https://www.gunboards.com/threads/east-german-k98.1258929/ Here's another example although it has some commercial proofs and replacement barrel. The markings tho from the "K10" rifle are what is rather interesting.

    K98 value

The gas shield having two digits is correct for a East German rework, other parts being ground/crossed out and restamped are also not uncommon to find on East German reworks. I'm willing to bet money it is a East German rework (DOU and DOT code receivers are not uncommon to see with the east...

    Gew98 - DWM 1917 475r

    Gorgeous example! :)

    K98 value

What stands out as to it being humped? Just from the extra cosmoline and forced matched flooplate. The stock also appearing to not have a bolt take down disc I was leaning towards it being a East German rework.

    Help identifying my Mauser

1939 Mauser Oberndorf with a Depot spare barrel installed. Can't make out the final WaA proofs but pretty neat it has a depot spare barrel. Unfortunately it has the scars left behind from someone long ago trying to sporterize it by trying to get the barrel off.

    BYF 44 Serial Number.

Neat! Never knew the info behind N block Mauser Oberndorf rifles. Congrats on snagging that one!

    Hi from Germany

Stock is a later replacement for sure. The H in the bolt cut out of the stock is kinda weird.

J.P. Sauer und Sohn serial number section for all matching rifles

Are you talking about our reference section? That's the purpose of all those pinned rifles in there specific manufacturer sections. You basically make a post with all the pictures you took and wait n see if your rifle will be selected to be pinned as a reference example. That's how I interpreted...

That's what proper care and storage, combined with little use does for these rifles! I think your example is the 4th one I'm aware of.

https://www.k98kforum.com/threads/ar-41-6132-d-block-luftwaffe.64198/ My example, serial number 6132 d Luftwaffe. Basically 1100 units away from your example. Looks very nice and congrats on that inheritance :)

    possible K98b

I can't believe interams ruined a most likely legit Gewehr 98 to K98K SS conversion....the rifle was already short!!! :(

    possible K98b

    @Bigdibbs88 what do you think?
  18. J

    possible K98b

Hmm interesting, didn't expect that. The barrel is a Mauser Oberndorf spare based on the S/42 marking.

    Gewehr 88 “Z” marking

I use to see them more often like that, than now in that configuration. As I mentioned before, there was one that had been to German depots twice during WW1 and it sat forevvvvvver but right around the time I got interest in it, it sold 🫠 just my luck usually 🤣 This rifle isn't totally matching...
