    What’s a Fair Price for a Shooter Grade P.38?

I paid $567 2 years ago for my mismatched, chrome-plated AC 44; it adjusts to approximately $600 now with inflation.

1917 DWM P04 "Navy" Luger - back from the dead

I picked up this old warhorse in the summer of 2022,after more than five years of desiring a Luger. Technically, this is my second Luger; my first was an American Eagle example that l returned to the seller after I removed the grips and discovered severe pitting on the frame and a damaged...

Yikes! Bubba Got a Hold of this one. Going for that SKS look xD

Yes. It's an absolute tragedy of the first degree, since there are already so few G/K43s out there as it is.

Yikes! Bubba Got a Hold of this one. Going for that SKS look xD

In the auction pictures that weren't reposted here, it showed that "bubba" had cut out part of the ZF4 scope rail to attach an aftermarket scope mount of some kind (it wasn't shown as part of the auction).

Yikes! Bubba Got a Hold of this one. Going for that SKS look xD

I bid on that rifle... It went for a LOT more than I thought it was worth. Rob at Apfeltor said he could do the metalwork repairs on it for about $525.

    DOU 42 K98k Restoration - in progress

Definitely not dragging it around the yard... I'd be having a fit if I saw someone deliberately dragging a DOU 42 K98k on the ground these days. They aren't very common. As far as how it'd like it to look, I'd like it to look more aged.

    DOU 42 K98k Restoration - in progress

Thank you. Basically, I'd like to get the stock (in particular the takedown disc) to more closely resemble something of WW2 vintage, without having it all beat up and ragged-looking. I don't really take the rifle out of my safe as often as I should, as I need to have my gunsmith do a bit of...

    DOU 42 K98k Restoration - in progress

Apology accepted. Though in hindsight, I should've asked about the trigger guard when I was originally gathering parts for the restoration... It would've saved me having to buy multiple trigger guards before finally getting the proper style.

    DOU 42 K98k Restoration - in progress

No kidding. I was just looking on eBay, and some people are asking $600 - 700 for matching numbered stock sets! I could buy a Yugo reworked K98 complete from J&G sales for about $500...

    DOU 42 K98k Restoration - in progress

Thank you for the information about the trigger guard. I have the proper style of trigger guard on order, and I will be installing it on the rifle when it arrives. This rifle was a mixmaster when I bought it, but I went through it with a fine-tooth comb and replaced the mis-numbered parts with...

    DOU 42 K98k Restoration - in progress

I appreciate the honesty and opinions of you all. While I don't regret returning this rifle to serviceable condition, I have decided that I could take the restoration a little bit further to really get it looking right. But I need help... What can I do to color my stock and takedown disc so...

Need help with a Turkish M1893 Stock

Hi all, I need some advice/help with a Turkish M1893 that I picked up a while back. It's been converted to 8mm Mauser with the magazine cutoff removed, and needs a replacement stock, because someone went crazy with the sander and removed a huge amount of material around the rear receiver tang...

G43 I found & bought recently (New to G43 Collecting)

Personally, I'd recommend just leaving it as-is, unless you can find a very experienced woodworker that can remove the old finish and apply a proper one. Removing it without the proper expertise and solution could damage the collector's value of the rifle.

    G43 parts project value?

It was $275 when I bought it from him a year ago.

    Japanese T-14, v. German P.38

Love the P38! It's one of my favorite WW2 handguns, and presently the only one I own. Never handled or shot a Type 14, but I'm looking to pick one up a for my WW2 pistol collection one of these days. First though, I have a Luger project and K98k project to finish up. Does anybody have a...

    P38 Local Find

I picked up my AC 44 P38 from a local place as well. Although it was a gun shop, rather than an estate.
