Opinions on low turret mount options

Thanks for responding! I know for sure the bolt is an armorer's bolt... I'll have to look at the rest of the rifle. The front band may be blank too. I will take some pictures tomorrow.

Opinions on low turret mount options

Hey all, I bought this low turret k98 minus a scope and mounts around a year ago. I really try to avoid reproduction stuff, but I have yet to see a single set of original mounts for sale. I try my best to check all the usual auction sites and stores every so often. I know the Chinese...

Advice for repairing butchered k98a dufflecut

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll reach out to him. Hopefully we can get this stock cleaned up somewhat haha

Advice for repairing butchered k98a dufflecut

I picked up this matching 1915 k98a a few years ago and it’s been sitting on the back burner since then. It’s got a hell of a dufflecut and the upper hand guard is missing the last bit. What would be the best way of going about getting her fixed? Finding a donor stock to cut up and replace the...

    VCS 1892 Kar88

Very nice. I have the worst luck with k88’s… all of mine are matching in great condition save for ground down sight protectors.

    Commonwealth Capture 1936 S/42

Very cool, I find the rifles that have some sort of trail are the most interesting to me.

    1917 Danzig/Goerz Model M Semi-Turret

Did you see how much that one went for? I'm slowly trying to learn prices on the Gew Snipers

    1917 Danzig/Goerz Model M Semi-Turret

I'll send you a PM. I payed a fair price.

    1917 Danzig/Goerz Model M Semi-Turret

Well, I'm glad everything worked out haha! That phone bidder really drove up the bid on the k98 and would just not give up! I was interested in the Kornbusch as well but accidentally missed it as I went to visit the Gettysburg battlefield. I didn't think it would go for that much! I...

    Commonwealth Capture 1936 S/42

I have been looking for an AA marked K98 for quite some time now and finally found one. The AA marking most likely indicates processing through Alexandria Arsenal. The rifle is a 1936 S/42 with matching numbers (except the cleaning rod) and a matching untouched stock. Out of all the k98's the...

    1917 Danzig/Goerz Model M Semi-Turret

I ended up getting the Commonwealth capture k98, which is what I came for. I also snagged the nice 1871/84 Jager model for a nice price. I was surprised by how cheap some of the other rifles went for too.

    1917 Danzig/Goerz Model M Semi-Turret

Hey Chris, I was at the same auction haha. So you were the one who bought that sniper. We talked for a minute or two I believe. Congrats, I had no idea if those two snipers were genuine so I didn't touch them. Congratulations, it was a nice rifle!

    Karabiner 88 Ear Restoration

Yeah, I have heard that theory before. It just seems like if that was the case then the grinds would be much more consistent and well done?

    $355 for a bolt?

I feel like people want a replacement bolt head or extractor and want them now. Imagine paying more for a bolt than what the rifle is worth

    Karabiner 88 Ear Restoration

Although I would love to do it myself, my welds are definitely to sloppy for this haha! I've had the one rifle for a few years and was waiting for a second before starting to try this. Guess I'll just have to see what others say. What did you do to get that corrosion started? Just body oils...

    Karabiner 88 Ear Restoration

Yeah it did, I talked him down in price! Honesty one of the cleanest examples I've seen.

    Karabiner 88 Ear Restoration

It seems like Bubba just loves to file the front sight guard ears on Kar 88's. I now have two of these rifles, both matching with untouched wood and in great condition besides the ears... So I'm faced with the classic Kar88 dilemma. Do I sell these rifles (probably for a profit) on Gunbroker...

    Kar88/Gew91 slings?

Here is my gew 91 sling. I was very lucky to find it! Someone on gunboards was selling it and didn’t really know what it was. Fits both my 88 and 91 well. Hopefully these picture help.

    Voightlander / Braunschweig Scope Question

Did Voightlander / Braunschweig produce any scopes painted green/feldgrau? I thought they didn’t but I saw one on a scharfschützengewehr and am curious.
