K43 Sniper

sturmgrenadier

Senior Member
I picked this up last year, however kids and work prevented me from posting pics until now. This rifle was on GB out of Connecticut with limited photos, so I took a gamble. The rifle appears to have sat in a closet since the war, all internals match and all the spare parts were present in the butt stock as well as the manual. The rifle came with 2 late aye mags (both have a "+" on them). Mods feel free to tag this or add it to the photo gallery as I know we're short on rifles in the sniper section. It may be difficult to see, but rifle is a b block.

What a great rifle! Tough to upgrade this one, congratulations! How much did you pay for it? There are hardly any references for matching numbers G/K43 sniper rifles.

I loved my g43, but unfortunately had to sell it for funds. Ironically for its rough appearance it was amazingly accurate and with the p635 ammo I twice shot 5 round under 2 moa groups at 100yds. It was a k block ac 44, one of those with the Durofol hand guards (if you look at the percentage in this block with those hand guards, I'm sure it was what they were issued with). Anyway I wish I could find another, especially one like this beautiful example.

George, it went for low 9s, however after discussion with SEVERAL members of the forum, I was prepared to go higher. The fact that the seller refused to take the rifle down to reveal internals; or answer requests for specific photos is the only reason it went so low IMO.

Beautiful rifle

I don't know much about these.

Were the scopes numbered to the rifles?

At the beginning of G/K 43 sniper production, the mounts were serial numbered with both the rifle number and the scope number. Due to quality/ accuracy issues with the mass produced zf4 scopes, that practice was dropped shortly after it started and only the rifle serial remained on the mount until the end of the war.
