1892 CG Haenel Kar 88

I acquired this one at Cabelas in 2018 and I decided to take it out for photos today. All numbered parts I see are matching but the rear band is on tight so I don’t dare mess with it and risk damage. The gun is in very good shape and doesn’t appear to have been messed with. I think this one sat in a closet for a long time. The gun is unit marked to a train unit and it appears to have seen various updates in German service like being updated for the S round.

It has had the barrel shroud off at least once and the new solder used on the barrel nut , as shown by the dot . It has been cleared to fire the S ammo . Other than just clearing the carbine to fire S ammo they seemed to have no other interest in updating them for S ammo with sights or the stripper clips . There are no Kar-88 S or Kar-88 / 05 's . Just being able to fire S ammo in en-bloc clips was enough .
