Sauer MP44

My latest acquisition. Sauer (CE) MP44. 1945 dated, MP44 marked, wood grips, threaded barrel, blued with the smaller butt stock.
Serial 'X' 2938
I think the 'X' is actually a capture marking versus a German WWII marking.
Stock marked 1.TRZ which is a Yugo Repair arsenal. Most MP44's in Canada came out of East Germany or Yugoslavia.

Sadly it is a DEWAT cock'n'click but still a nice wall hanger.

Last two pics show it compared to a phosphate Haenel MP44 and it also shows the difference between the large/wide and small/narrow butt stocks.

yep most of the kits that hit the states at that time, were eg refurbs, serial number on the stock and X help
the bolt should be blued and op rod

How difficult is it to turn a kit gun or a display piece into a dealer sample, and would you require an SOT license for that instead of a normal FFL?

Nice looking and well storied display piece.
The prices on Canadian deactivated guns seem to have sky rocketed.
That's an expensive hobby you have yourself - !

the OP is Kanadian, the rifle can not be imported into the US without extensive permitting (or a trip in the trunk at some lonely border crossing in Vermont) converting a dewat depends on the dewatting process, as so many variation exist

The approved paperwork should always precede the discussion. Otherwise, mere talk of this nature can land you in the klink (Conspiracy to Violate NFA '34). It's happened.
