Help identifying K98 Stock ?

Hello everyone,

Here is my 2nd post on the forum

I bough a stock few time ago but never found for which gun this stock was.

So far, I know that most of the elements doesn't comes originally with the stock. I just would like from which gun this stock was initially made for.

The particularities :
- The superior hand guard doesn't comes with the stock probably ?
- The U marked at 2 emplacement (right side +handle)

I'm thinking about an export K98 for Uruguay because of the U, what do you think about it ?

Hard to tell from the photos. Is bayonet lug 3cm or 4cm long?

Reminds me of a Uruguayan vz37 contract stock. But I dont think thats quite it. Maybe one of the FN contract variants? I think you are on to something with the U marking.

Thanks for the answer,I found this topic on the forum about a 1908 DWM mauser, it seems really close to my stock (more than the Vz37), except that mine could have been shortened ? I couldn't find any exemple of short 1908 model for uruguay...
