There was one particular period manufacturer of the dot 44 uniform who had an assigned RBNr. and the HBT material used was of better quality than the typical SSBW produced HBT garments. There were also dot 44 uniforms where the camo pattern was printed on smooth cotton Italian Olana cloth which was better quality than the HBT's and also exhibited more vibrant pattern colors.
 
Yes, the Italian combed cotton was a much better material.

Here is my example.....

Note how the dense material often failed to absorb all the dye creating a "ghosting effect'' in the camouflage pattern.

This tunic was produced in Ravensbrück concentration camp
