Just added this to the collection so thought I’d show a few pics. This rifle is actually listed in the published SS contract serial/barrel code study, though I don’t think a selection of photos have been posted here before.

Thanks for the photo spread! I’ll update the entry with band and tguard info. I just picked up a loose SS contract bolt, had to check the serial it was similar. 7100.


Does it have unnumbered bands?

No problem. When I started here I never thought I'd have a single rune, so its kinda fun to show everyone :biggrin1:

Bands are unnumbered. Trigger guard and stock are both numbered and matching. Stock obviously has the E/623 on the wrist.

Was the SS contract bolt just the bolt body or complete? The one currently on it is a Radom made piece.
 
It’s complete, but IMO the finish wouldn’t match your rifle at all. I think that bolt you have has been in that rifle a long time.

Nice. And ya I would definitely agree with that. Unless I magically finds a Sn. 7644 SS contract bolt, they’ll be staying together.
 
That's a nice one, congrats. I have been looking for a nice single rune for over a year and have seen zilch.

That's a "nice old fellow", honest as could be. It shows a lot of heavy field use which would be
expected of combat-used rifle. I'm surprised that it doesn't have a sight hood?

I’m over here wondering how you FOUND a loose SS contract bolt!! :)

If you stumble across any more and you want to get rid of one let me know haha!! Anyway cool rifle, thanks for sharing it. Always like to see these.

I know because SS contract bolts are numbered differently than other Steyr bolts. I was planning on selling it, it doesn’t match anything I have. My issue is what’s it worth, more than a typical bnz bolt imo. Contact me.
