1926 VZ-24 all Czech and matching

I acquired this one recently. It’s all matching, (Stock, bolt and handguard with last two digits). Any idea when they stopped numbering handguards? The bolt closes on an open mag and there’s a unit mark on the disc. Any idea what this unit marking was Many of the small parts are marked with a Circled Z marking. Oddly there is an older 50s-60s import mark on the barrel that reads “8mm”, any idea where this one may have been imported from? Nothing on it points to a Spanish Civil War gun. Thanks in advance.

Nice. Its tough finding non-modified vz24.

As for the import mark, I'd guess it was imported from somewhere in Western Europe (not Spain) in the 1950s/60s. It was definitely Czech issue, so really not many other possibilities IMO.

Agree! This one looks to nice and matching to be one from Spain. Not in the typical s/n range for those either. Interarms imports are often seen with the 8MM stamp, but I suppose they could have brought others in from elsewhere. Would have to look into the book "Deadly Business" to see if there's any clues. It does cover a lot of Sam Cummings/Interams various transactions of that era.

Not a Spanish Civil War Gun.

The Czechs defaced the Czech acceptance marks on guns going to Spain.

It is however, very common to find 8mm stamped on guns imported in the 1950s, because Billy Bob liked to try to fire 30.06 out of them.....

The Czechoslovak Vz.24 rifle has a 30IR unit which was located in Hohenmauth in Sudeten area, when it remains there to 1938 is was most real captured by germans, could be it remains anywhere wout refurbishing by germans.
