Not sure I shared this in the past, a deaths head marked luger holster from a very old collection. I did pick some other things out of the collection and it had some outstanding items. This one through me off with the DH stamp to the rear, but I am really a novice with these things.
Some photos to share.

This particular holster was part of the SS 1938 contract with H.Eger and Linde. All of the police style holsters are from this maker, certainly the result of the SS leveraging their control of the police (and their logistical and purchase systems) to skirt around the Army, who did not allow to SS to contact for their own equipment.
Obviously this was originally accepted by the Police inspectors but was routed on to the SS instead (maybe a production overrun). The SS then "cancelled out" the police acceptance by overstamping it with this depot skull. We see this on early K98k spare barrels sent to the SS also. Most of these SS H.Eger and Linde holsters don't have this extra skull since they lack the police acceptance.
I wondered the reason for the 2nd DH on the back and could see 'something' underneath it. Sounds like you're on to something here. Anyway thanks for the continued information.

Excellent. Note it also has police acceptance under the rear DH. I didn't have much doubt this variation was legit, but this confirms it IMO.Coincidence - look what I've been shown that had turned up on a German attic! Identically twice stamped with Deaths Head, same maker, same brown color.
