its an m42 model shell with orig. decal IMHO.. at some point it was painted black. Not uncommon to see.. This will effect the value also if the liner is intact or not.
so , M42 shell. Army/Heer as it was called.. Looks to be a Ckl shell/ the maker of the shell. hope this helps. in its current state with a liner around 400 without around 150-175

Many attribute black painted Third Reich helmets, i.e., originally painted black during the war, as having a flak association. Maybe. It could also be a biker's helmet.
Liner seam is at the front which definitely suggests post war disassembly to me. It still presents well.
