Sharing the collection

Pulled most of the collection out the other day so I thought I’d share a few pics. I know its not all strictly ‘militaria’ but really a mix of military/party/civilian items. As you can probably tell, I like print media quite a bit.

Nice collection. I have a mix of items like that. I was doing paper items, books, photos, posters, stamps, and etc. but decided to stop paper when I moved to a wetter climate. I sold some of it. I had four (two of each pose) of the big lithographs of Hitler that were displayed in state offices. I regret it now, lol. I will probably keep my photos but still plan on selling the rest.
I have most of my collection posted in a group photo on here. I say most as I am always adding more.
These are the lithographs I sold.

Thanks for all the kind words. Really appreciate it. I decided to share a few close ups of some of the pieces I find most interesting.

Der Sturmer (The Stormer): Perhaps the most aggressively anti-Semitic/racist of all the Nazi-era newspapers. Der Sturmer, published by Julius Streicher, was a weekly tabloid famous for its obscene portrayals and claims about the Third Reich’s perceived enemies. The paper’s motto was ‘The Jews are our misfortune!,’ and can be seen at the bottom of the title page. Interestingly, Der Sturmer was not an ‘official’ NSDAP paper, but was privately published by Streicher, though it was widely read and supported by the Nazi regime.

Das Schwarze Korps (The Black Core): the official weekly paper of the SS. This copy is from ‘43. Basically just full of what you would expect from the official newspaper of the SS. Articles about SS bravery on the front, obituaries to fallen SS soldiers, blood and soil talk, etc. By the end of the war Das Schwarze Korps had become one of the largest weekly papers in the Third Reich.

Die Brennessel (The Burning Nettle): A satirical tabloid that saw its heyday in the early 30’s, especially before the NSDAP came to power. It used humour to mock the Nazi’s enemies, like Jews, communists, and industrials. The paper was known for its very striking cover art. On this copy you can see a great stag easily leaping over a bunch of very slavic looking communists troops in the moonlight, with a swastika obviously adorning the moon. This copy is from 1931.
