I found this in auction:
https://mjlmilitaria.com/very-scarce-gewherfabrik-danzig-rifle-uk-deac/

And I'm a little confused.

Mauser M98 made by Gewehrfabrik Danzig in a military stock?.

I can't say I am familiar with this variation, but some of the markings are reminiscent of Brazilian contracts, specifically the backward 3 and perhaps the use of "B", - the simplistic flag "B" is also symbolically remiencent of Brazil, their juvenile inspired national emblem or flag...

I should also note that Danzig's loss of the arsenal equipment and machinery was due to arms contracts with South American countries and supplying barrels to Mexico. I think the SA contracts were canceled but the contracts with Mexico were allowed to continue, though I do not think either involved Brazil.

Sorry for OT, but to warn others: don't check what else this shop for deactivated guns can offer. You'd otherwise find prototype assault rifles, RSC 1917 and Irwin-Pedersen M1 Carbine, all deactivated .. God, I'll have nightmares today!

Hardly off-topic, I noticed this as well, - reminded me of Storz references which were deactivated under the German communist regime. Another "result" of totalitarian regimes... great idea allying with Stalin to defeat Hitler, exchanging two monsters in competition with one another for a single monster with no check on his ambitions...
