Lazy S deaths head research

This one appear to be winking at you...

'Lazy eye'. I'll ask this anyway. Do the fake (especially the bad ones) devalue them or are the Luger guys just so whatever that they don't care? Or do they think all of them are genuine?

It is actually the opposite. They are all fake so they are all devalued.

I'm trying to understand but I'm neither a Luger collector or on that forum. What was all that jazz about flamethrower units?

I forget which book it's in (I think it's one of Jam Still's) but one of the theories presented is that these belonged to flame thrower units. Each book has several theories and the flame thrower one seemed to stick for some reason.

The primary WW1 German flamethrower unit, the Garde-Reserve-Pionier-Regiment, was awarded a Totenkopf patch by the Kaiser in 1916. They wore the patch on their sleeves on both dress and field uniforms and became known as the Totenkopf Pioniere. Who actually connected these guys to the pistols, I don't know. Some German I think?

If all markings were filled white, OK. But ONLY the DH filled white and the year date a bit filled white .. almost looks as if someone wanted to hide something. Like the fact that it could be engraved.

Always post as many additional pictures as you have. Would be highly interesting to know if the pistol also has a commercial Suhl firing proof, and if any parts are replacement parts.

Oh boy, I don't think I would trust that one..

There are quite a few pictures available on the old luger forum...it's funny, that after looking at them for a while, you can almost start to figure out which ones may be legit, and which ones seem to be absolute fakes (even without seeing the barrels or receivers).
