Vz.24 with PEM on Top Mount?

Was sent this picture. Seems like a German field conversion - only two screws visible for the scope base what makes it seem like it was shortened. Did I identify it correctly as Vz.24 (/G.24(t)), or anyone else with other suggestions? Unfortunately the camera focused to the hand grenades in the background and not on the rifle.

Caption backside reads "???? vorgeschobenen Posten Scharfschützenstand vor ???? Linien" ("..... forward base sniper booth ahead .... border") and "???? Sommer 42" ("..... Summer (19)42") on bottom.

That is very interesting, it really does look like a VZ-24 with a PE scope and mount. I wonder where a modification like this would be done.
