    Once you know how to do it, these late rifles with no latch are actually easier to take part than the early ones with the latch. Neat rifle for sure.

    Just to add to the confusion, I have a d block ac45 in the 4000 serial range and it is fully serialized and fully matching. No firing proof.

    I have 5599c, supposedly liberated at the capture of the Walther plant. No proofs, but WaA stamps everywhere you'd expect them. These were very late product improved guns, with manufacturing and design differences not encountered with other makers. These included the repositioned recoil lug, 3mm gas relief holes on the gas cylinder, stainless steel gas piston, omitted bolt carrier latch, double bolt guides, repositioned extractor on the bolt, and some other changes that I can't recall. Altogether, they made for a more reliable K43 that didn't have the violent action of earlier guns.
