Acquired this one from the recent Amoskeag auction. The rod, bolt parts bayonet lug, one of the action screws and of course the cleaning rod are mismatched but they bear Weimar markings. The back half of the bolt and bayonet Lug are both numbered “54” The other parts are matching with the floorplate and stock being renumbered during a refurb. Interestingly the stocks cancelled number is also matching to the receiver. There is a repaired duffel cut behind the rear band and oddly someone drilled a hole on the left side of the rear band. I’m curious of the reasoning someone one add this hole but I’ve seen other rifles like it. I’ve been after one of these for years and this is the first good one I’ve for public sale since Craig Browns stuff went up for auction. Anyhow appreciate all your input.

Nice ! pretty complete mostly correct kar98b. At least is has the Karab98b side legend . Some are fully blank i think.. Only thing lacking for me its not a full dated Simson ...

Just finding one of the these that isnt an Albanian impost is a chore.. Congrats !!!

Right above the stock serial you can see a circle with “WW Hr” for Waffenwerk Hannover, that’s the depot that repaired/restamped it.

Very nice, - about as close as you can to "fix" a bolt mismatcher... The stock is certainly factory, not sure why but it is very common to see the old original serial defaced and a new one added during the Republic and probably this lingered well into the NS era, especially for non-standard rifles. The wrist WaA67 is right for this range, so too the RS E/WaA43 under the E/H. At the very least the bolt and stock are from the same range, - Simson never rolled over year to year so the bolt is a certainty and very close to this rifle.

While d-f are probably the easiest to find decent, - so too 1925 because so many were made - they are still difficult to find nice or in any upper grade. Very nice pick-up and these are probably one of the few universally desired military M98 1918-1932 (one of the VERY few Republican era rifles that carry strong demand, though Simson P08's are probably more popular and pricey)

It is good you snagged a nice example!

Thank you gentlemen, I was quite glad to get this one, as it’s taken me a while.
Yeah man, very glad you went for this one-- how long have you been looking? 15 + years?
