Looks certainly interesting, the frog is probably for police. Is there any mashining on blade visible, as the scabbard looks like pre 1940.

Have not seen any DR marked S84/98s other than early, unattributed "narrow-blade" examples. I wonder if this bayonet is also a narrow-blade, but possibly re-gripped/refurbished. The marking on the crossguard certainly looks good. Also concur with Andy on the frog, which is a nice example on it's own...

Hi, in picture 2 there looks like mashining spures in fuller of blade, same as the crossguard surface is not extra polished, so there is question is of same date as scabbard as scabbard should be pre 1940, secondly i dont known the "22" is a district number but Koeln have different number 15 when i remember correctly.

Hi Andrei.
You right it can be a mix up..but in that case it is hard to see…
take a look of these close up pics.

Correct! 22 is Nürnberg NOT Köln.

Thanks for adding the table, i had only copy of it. About the details, the blade is mashined in way as typical for late 1941/42 period, certainly not correct with lined hook of scabbard, but it could be so joined for long time, even from start, when older spare scabbards could be used on that contract?.Blades in 1938/9 were still in high end polish.
