If anyone could help me out here, I’m kinda new to this I just ordered a K98 bayonet after doing some research it’s apparently in amazing condition and is a P. Weyersberg matching with scabbard stamped 39 for the year on the spine. However I kind of overlooked the codes. The shops description I’m buying it from states it’s proofed with 2 WaA256 Waffenamts on the pommel and a WaA253 waffenamt on the top of the grip frame, I looked up the codes with manufacturers and sure enough the 253 matches with the year it was produced by Weyersberg however I see no such thing as a WaA256 proof code even existing. I’m hoping this isn’t a reworked piece or anything I paid good for it and just want it to be all original. Maybe it’s possible they misread it? Do they even stamp the top of the grip frames? Any help would be appreciated. Sorry no pics yet I haven’t even received it yet. Just something I noticed in my research. Thanks
