1875 Coppel Sg71

I recently picked up this Sg71 bayonet rig up at a local show. Made by Coppel in 1875. Issued to the 60th Reserve Infantry Regiment, 9th Company, 191st weapon. Matching unit mark between scabbard and blade, the scabbard has a cancelled unit mark but the frog is in too tender of shape I wasn’t going to remove it to get a better look. The color combination of the knot represent the 9th company. 718F7317-9CA6-4674-B97A-87FABFE5295D.jpegD93DD9F2-5D37-4EC5-9F6E-F61D906F323D.jpeg32784B20-1E35-472A-9FFD-A790261A4893.jpeg70BEA344-B8E0-4888-B2D0-0B37FE9A9430.jpeg99858C99-B558-4F47-9697-69C569C4026B.jpeg466390ED-3994-4738-9CCB-4F609C34ACBF.jpeg0585EA39-F59F-4040-B5AB-C1B0420D4B77.jpeg

Nice Sg71. I have looked at a few of them in hopes to ad one to my collection. Only one had matching marks on the cross guard and scabbard, it was in very poor condition, so I passed. None had a frog or a knot.
Thanks for sharing your bayonet with us.

Nice S1871 with matching unit, it looks like on crossguard was too different older unit removed, the frog looks like a dress one, so it could be used post as a dress weapon or it was mixed in time. There was a label with name of owner on backside of frog.
